Dear ladies and gentlemen,

As a consequence of armed Armenian aggression, 20% of Azerbaijani territories, including Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 neighboring regions, were occupied and over 1 million Azerbaijanis became internally displaced people due to ethnic cleansing policy by Armenia in these territories.


20 years have past since the occupation of Shusha

Shusha – town in the Mountainous Garabagh province of Azerbaijan, center of the administrative district (area – 289 km²). Founded by Panah Ali Khan in the 1750s, the ruler of Garabagh. Originally bore the name both of Shusha and Panahabad after Panah Ali Khan. Later Shusha turned into  the political and cultural center of the Garabagh khanate. Following the Russian occupation of Azerbaijan, Shusha became the administrative, economic and cultural center of the Garabagh province and one of the cultural centers of Azerbaijan. Shusha is the hometown of many prominent men-of-cultur of Azerbaijan.


SOCAR announces losses at oil price of $60

The losses of SOCAR (The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic) can reach about 400 million AZN, if the prices for oil in 2015 remain at the level of $60 per barrel, SOCAR Vice President for Economic Affairs Suleyman Gasimov said Dec.25 at a press conference.


Azerbaijani citizens not to feel oil price decrease on world market - Ilham Aliyev

Azerbaijani citizens will not feel the oil price decrease on the world market, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said during the opening ceremony of the first All-Republican Forum of ASAN Volunteers in the Heydar Aliyev Center in the Sabirabad district. "The oil prices have sharply decreased,” the president said. “Has anyone felt this in Azerbaijan? No, and no one will feel this because we have a powerful economic basis."


SOCAR: The pipeline to be constructed between Russia and Turkey is not rival to South Caucasus Pipeline

President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev commented on contract on construction of pipeline between Russia and Turkey. Abdullayev said that the South Caucasus Pipeline designed for transportation of Shah Deniz gas to Georgian-Turkish border passing through Georgia is not a rival to any gas pipeline.  “As you know, the South Caucasus Pipeline will transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe by 2046. All related issues have already been solved. I think that there is no problem for implementation of this pipeline”, SOCAR President said.
